sitting around headless
This week has been a tough week for me, but 1st let me qualify tat most weeks are tough in many different way, i'm sure u might have a tough day even today as well. Heh i'm not comparing or anything but i really feel burn out...i haven really slept well for the past few nites, waking up all the time..
Well i felt abit overwhelmed this week cos i felt like there're so much needs to be met... I was spending time wif alfred on tues to watch a movie, we had a good chat, juz when the movie was abt to start my mum called to tell me tat my grandma was not doing very well physically... i was worried but not too concern cos she's kinda old... So my mum was asking if i could take a few days off & visit my grandma in Malaysia(13hrs bus ride)... i wasn't too keen but i said i'll ask my bosses. The next day my mum called and said my granny passed away... i didn't noe wat to do... not sure how to feel. i wasn't sad, far from it i was indifferent....
And so my mum rushed off to Malaysia without me... i wanted to go but she can't wait for me then she's gone... i cant go on my own cos i dunno how to get there... sad but true the last time when i was there, i was like 11yrs old... My mum is abit sad but she's ok but i cant help but to feel guilty... the guilt of not feeling sad tat my granny passed away... am i so heartless? i really dunno how to feel... my escape mechanism is telling it's ok juz bottled it all up & u be fine... ' u r fine now aren't u?'
So i did wat i could do, i bottled it up, i put on a mask & went to spendtime wif my small grp... gonna get wif another bro later as well... & be there for all the shawn wooten services while my granny's funeral is on...
Wat am i to do? I dunno... all i can do now is blog... though i do have some time alone to think abt wat happen... but i dunno wat to think... HEADLESS!

Why do people talk about the brain as being 'grey' matter
Parts of the brain are grey, about 40% the remaining 60% is white, although women differ from men. Women have smaller brains, generally, but have more grey matter in them than men. It is the grey matter which performs the brain's processing functions, and the white matter acts as the conductor which moves the information around. Although it's abit dangerous to draw close links between brains and computers, you could say that the grey matter did the job of the microchips, and the white matter was the circuit that joined them together.
It is thought that the different ratios of grey and white matter in male and female brains accounts for the fact that women are often better communicators, while man may have enhanced spatial awareness, This could be why it needs a man to read a map, and a woman to explain why they got lost in the first place. Recent research has suggested that the amount of white matter in our brains may also affect our ability to tell lies and deceive. As it takes a lot more careful thinking to tell a successful fib, scientists now believe that the white matter in the brain provides the tool which helps liars think more quickly, because the more white matter there is the more rapid the connections between the processors in the grey matter can be made. The instinct to behave ourselves and not tell lies is also found in the grey matter, and habitual liars tend to have less grey matter, making thier problems worse.
the grey matter is hungry stuff - 94% of the brain's oxygen is used to feed it.
Why Can't People Tickle Themselves?
Tickling excites the fine nerve endingd beneath the surface of the skin. It makes some people laugh, while others recoil from the touch.
How ticklish a tickle feels can depend on who's doing the tickling! Recent studies have shown a difference between brain scans of people being tickled by another person, compared to when they tickle themselves. In the case of self-tickling it seems that your brain see it coming and tells you to ignore it. Brain scans of self-ticklers show that the cellbellum, a part of the brain used to planning, send urgent messages to another part of the brain warning it that a sensation is on the way.
However, we ave to have control over it thsi sensation; for example, life would be impossible if the soles of our feet tickled every time we put them to the ground. So the brain deals with this and sorts out the important stimuli from the ones which don't matter very much.
Darwn the evolutionist was intersted in the phenomenon of tickles. He realized that a victim of tickling would squirm in order to get vulnerable parts of the body away from the stimulus. He thought this was an evolutionary mechanism to protect us against predators. Interestingly, the pleasure from being tickled increases the older you become.

Can Cows Walk Down Stairs?
I just gotten this book on Saturday & it's very interesting on the side it says, perplexing questions answered. i came across this question & want to share it wif u guys. This is from the book.
Is there anybody else out there?
If you mean intelligent life, probably not. There's certainly no evidence. However, any astronomer would have to be very brave to say that the Earth was the only life-bearing planet in the universe, and there are plenty of people who'd argue that intelligent life is thinly scattered in our own galaxy.
So, if we are talking about life which is similar to ours, what does it need in order to exist? For a start, it needs a long period of stability to evolve beyond microbes into complex animals and plants. So the first requirement would have to be a stable sun. This immediately rules out 90 per cent of the galaxy's 200 billion stars - they are either too cold and feeble, or too hot and short-lived.
Another essential for life is the presence of liquid - most likely water, which must be in liquid state in which molecules can mix because in order to form complex molecules, chemicals need to be able to mix together well. This puts an even tighter limit on the requirements for life, for although water molecules are widespread throughspread throughout the universe, water is only liquid in a narrow range of temperatures and pressures (0-100˚
C under Earth's atmospheric pressure). So for liquid water to survive on a planet, it would need a substantial atmosphere, and a stable orbit around its star at roughly the same distance as the Earth. This is why there is no life on Mars or Venus - they are either too hot or too cold.
Those two requirements alone rule out any other solar systems we know about, but bear in mind that smaller systems are hard to detect and might well be out there. As far as we can tell, Earth is a unique planet, in a perfect position for our kind of life to flourish. The chance of there being anywhere similar must be very small indeed.
I tot this is very interesting... Hard to argue that God didn't plan to flourish us....

Good News
As you all might have known, my wallet & hdp was stolen on tues, then last nite i called my mum & she told me someone called her & told her that her son's hdp & wallet is wif him.
I immediately called that guy even though it was like pass mid nite. A man picked up the phone & he was polite, I told him who I was & he explained to me wat happened. His son was the one who took the wallet & hdp, the son is a primary school kid but mixed wif some bad company & took my stuff outta found. He found out when he saw his son playing wif my phone... So he confronted his son & punished him, he hope that i won't mind & he would pass me back my stuff in the morning.
I was more than happy to get my stuff back. I thanked him alot for being so considerate & i really think he's a good dad & i respect him for that(cant believed i said that). As for the kid i didnt wanna pursued the matter only told him to take care & be watchful of him. He kept apologising after that... I'm juz glad to have my phone & wallet back. I promise i'll be more careful next time!

I'm settling down
Yesterday i went for the 1st teen workers leaders meeting. Feel so different cos the pple r diff too. i still love the East leaders meeting, all the suaning & jokes & laughters... Not tat the teen workers r boring but it was juz diff.....
It has been 2 weeks since i changed ministry but there're still lotsa things to get use to... i really need to build frenship wif pple there, both the teens & the teen workers it doesn't take alot of effort, they're a nice bunch of pple juz tat these kinda things take time. It takes time to build rapport...
But so far it has been exciting, my schedule it packed wif spendtime! my life for now revolves ard spending time wif the teens ministry, really need to invest my time to get to noe them.
It was fun going jogging wif bengy, praying wif manfred on sunday mornings. Talking to shawn poh & EJ. We even played 'chua tai di' together, we all did a fair share of push-ups as punishment for the losers(my hands still ache)
Had fun wif the teen workers too, went to watch 门徒 wif my new small grp and on saturday nite we went to have steamboat together...
So those of ya who have lotsa free time pls feel free to join us(this's not recruitment, juz a frenly invitation).
There's juz one thing i really need to get use to hangout wif the teens, tat's i feel alot older nxt to them....
